<![CDATA[Team Fillypiñana - News]]>Thu, 10 Mar 2016 14:31:53 +0800Weebly<![CDATA[We've withdrawn our participation from Cosplay Mania.]]>Mon, 03 Aug 2015 03:47:42 GMThttp://teamfillypinana.weebly.com/news/weve-withdrawn-our-participation-from-cosplay-mania
Maybe next year...
It's a missed opportunity for us, but we have to pull out of the exhibitors' roster list in the upcoming Cosplay Mania 2015 in October.

It was already sad enough that we previously pulled out from Nexcon Manila, but that was due to our focus on Rari-Tea Party 2015. This time, we have to pull out due to a major restructuring plan within the Team (which is still on-going), not to mention budgeting problems. It's a shame though, because Cosplay Mania is the biggest cosplay convention in the country and we would've loved to make it in the roster.

Oh well, maybe we can show up next year. Besides, at least we have PHAnthroFest 2015.

<![CDATA[Rari-Tea Party Update # 2: Moving to a smaller function hall]]>Fri, 08 May 2015 16:25:50 GMThttp://teamfillypinana.weebly.com/news/rari-tea-party-update-2-moving-to-a-smaller-function-hall
It's a tea party fit for a crowd of 50.
Rari-Tea Party is now two weeks away, and we're making major changes for this year's party. For the second part of the "Rari-Tea Party Update" post series, we'll talk off with the venue. Last year's tea party was held in the Bali Function Hall which can accommodate up to 60 seated people. Thirty people attended last year's party, which is a big waste of space for us.

In this year's tea party, we're going to move to the smaller Boracay Function Hall. This function hall can accommodate a maximum of 50 people, but some layout changes need to be made:

  1. The function-hall layout will be filled with 5 banquet tables, each with 10 seats per table. Seating is on a first-come-first-served basis.
  2. There will be no stage area this year, since there is no need to have an elevated platform.
  3. There will be a small table where guests can borrow and return different board and card games for entertainment.
  4. Aktivshow will put up its media station either inside or outside the venue hall.
  5. The self-service food and tea stations will be located outside the venue hall.
  6. Team Fillypiñana's station will also be outside the venue hall.

Are you okay with this year's tea party inside the small (and intimate) Boracay Hall? Let us know.

<![CDATA[Rari-Tea Party Update # 1: Deadline for registration is on May 22.]]>Fri, 08 May 2015 06:55:00 GMThttp://teamfillypinana.weebly.com/news/rari-tea-party-update-1-deadline-for-registration-is-on-may-22
No registration, no entry.
We're down to the last three weeks till the 2nd annual Rari-Tea Party. At this point, we're rushing to finalize the programme, the tea menu, and most importantly, the head-count! With that, we're imposing the following deadlines:

May 18: Deadline of payment via BPI / BPI Family bank deposit (for all registrations made on or before May 15)
May 22: Deadline of registration for all Special Loyalty guests and First-time Admission guests

All registrations who failed to pay via bank-deposit or registered from May 16 - 22 can pay at the event itself. While we will accept door-charge payments for registered guests, we will no longer entertain on-the-spot registrations on the day itself. Everyone now has until May 22 to sign up for the tea party!

Now, here are the reasons why we are requesting everyone to properly register into our Eventbrite page:

  1. Catering expenses
Because we ourselves are shouldering the food and drinks, we're trying to estimate how much we should spend on biscuits, bread, and especially tea. Food wastage is not cool, y'all!
  2. Tea-cups
We are keeping our word that a tea party isn't complete without actual tea-cups, but we want to know how many of these cups we're going to provide.
  3. The function hall
Due to the unpredictability of the head count, we will be moving to a smaller function hall this year. The new function hall can accommodate 50-60 people (excluding ourselves in the Team), so seats are limited.

Do you have any questions? Let us know. And don't forget to sign up for Rari-Tea Party through this link:

<![CDATA[Rari-Tea Sugar Drops: We're planning to propose a business deal with cafes around Metro Manila.]]>Mon, 27 Apr 2015 16:21:31 GMThttp://teamfillypinana.weebly.com/news/rari-tea-sugar-drops-were-planning-to-propose-a-business-deal-with-cafes-around-metro-manila
Coming soon to a tea-shop or coffee-shop near you!
We have full faith that our Rari-Tea Sugar Drops will succeed, considering that we sold all 25 jars on our first sale back in Tamashii Convention. We wish to participate in all conventions and sell our sugar drops, but alas, we cannot participate as exhibitors in ALL events. (Maybe next year, Nexcon...) So, we're going for the next-best idea: we are going to pitch our Rari-Tea Sugar Drops to various establishments!

Yes, you hear it correctly - we are going to propose to a number of cafes and coffee-shops around Metro Manila, and hopefully they will allow us to sell our signature product in their stores. The thought of consignment alone is very overwhelming because we've never done this before, but we keep our heads high and hope we will succeed.

We won't be listing the names of the establishments that we intend to propose, but we will announce which cafe or coffee-shop we successfully consign with in the future. But don't get too excited, everyone - we brace for the fact that it will take some weeks before we acquire our first deal, so the sugar drops won't be in stores yet. In addition, here are some disclaimers:
  • The product packaging will be different compared to the jars from the initial public sale during TamaCon.
  • The color of the sugar drops will now represent a flavor. The original Vanilla variant will be in violet color, the Vanilla-Mint variant will be in white color, and the Cinnamon variant will be in a two-tone white and brown color. (The latter two variants are still under testing.)
  • The medium-jar version of all three variants will be up for sale in the coming months.
  • The retail price per jar will depend on the terms between Team Fillypinana and the establishment - it could stay at the original Php 75.00 or it could go higher.
  • The selling period will also depend on the terms between the Team and the establishment - we cannot say exactly how long we can have Rari-Tea Sugar Drops for-sale in a particular store.
  • We will initially focus on pitching to establishments around Manila, Makati, Pasay, and Pasig. We will then pitch to stores from the rest of Metro Manila later this year. We do not plan to pitch this to establishments from provincial areas - YET.
  • The consignment strategy will not affect our participation as exhibitors in upcoming conventions.

Are you excited to see Rari-Tea Sugar Drops heading to a cafe or coffee-shop near you? Do you also know a cafe that we can propose to? Let us know right away!

<![CDATA[Rari-Tea Sugar Drops: Vanilla-Mint and CInnamon flavors are coming soon.]]>Sat, 18 Apr 2015 15:44:41 GMThttp://teamfillypinana.weebly.com/news/rari-tea-sugar-drops-vanilla-mint-and-cinnamon-flavors-are-coming-soon
Product-testing is in the works.
We are very happy with the initial reception of our signature product Rari-Tea Sugar Drops, but we want to try out new flavors besides the original vanilla flavor. With that, we are set to work on making vanilla-mint and cinnamon flavors of our sugar drops!

As of writing, the vanilla-mint version is being tested and we're looking for taste-testers to give out their opinions. We'll be debuting the two new flavors soon, hopefully in-time for the Rari-Tea Party 2015. As for the pricing, we'll get to that the moment we are happy with the test results.

What do you think, everyone? Do you want to have a hint of mint or cinnamon in your tea or coffee? Let us know.

<![CDATA[We've withdrawn from Nexcon Manila.]]>Tue, 07 Apr 2015 15:59:16 GMThttp://teamfillypinana.weebly.com/news/weve-withdrawn-from-nexcon-manila
...and we hope the sacrifice is worth it.
Sometimes we need to pass up one event for the sake of the future benefit. We're very sad to say this but Team Fillypiñana has backed out from the roster of exhibitors in Nexcon Manila.

The decision to withdraw is due to our main priority to allocate our funds for expenses in Rari-Tea Party 2015, as well as to give ourselves ample time to make preparations for our event. The decision is all for the best, everyone.

However, our reservation payment for Nexcon won't be for naught, because we've requested to transfer our reservation amount to securing our slot for Cosplay Mania 2015. As Nexcon and Cosplay Mania are organized by the same events team, the transfer is possible so at least there's a silver lining.

Do you agree that pulling out from Nexcon is a good decision? Leave a note down below.

<![CDATA[We have partnered with 1Digimedia Audiovisuals, Inc.]]>Mon, 06 Apr 2015 08:54:52 GMThttp://teamfillypinana.weebly.com/news/we-have-partnered-with-1digimedia-audiovisuals-inc
We got ourselves a media partner!
It's less than two months away till Rari-Tea Party 2015 and we're already picking up the pace to get as many guests to sign up for the party as possible. To ensure that the tea party (and our future events) will gain the attention it deserves, we have officially partnered with 1Digimedia Audiovisuals, Inc.

1Digimedia Audiovisuals Inc. is a media company that's responsible for promoting numerous events around the country. The company is behind the online media channel Aktivshow, which recently made its appearance in the Tamashii Convention. The company has worked with a number of companies and organizations in the past, and we at Team Fillypiñana are very grateful to form a collaboration with 1Digimedia.

Now that we have a media partner, what does this mean for the Team and Rari-Tea Party 2015? This is the list of what's going to happen:

  • There will be 30-second trailer videos circulating around out-of-home channels and in TV screens of the BGCBus starting the next two weeks until the day of the event.
  • 1Digimedia's logo and Aktivshow's logo will be included in our official event poster, flyer and other promotional content.
  • There will be heavy promotion in Aktivshow.
  • Team Fillypiñana will be included in the company's list of collaborators, and the Team will have its own collaborator's section page in Aktivshow.
  • Aktivshow will provide photo/video coverage during the tea party and the company will be acknowledged during the party.
  • Aktivshow will set up its own media station and booth in the party venue.

What are your thoughts on the media partnership? Sound off in the comments!

<![CDATA[All 25 jars of Rari-Tea Sugar Drops were sold in TamaCon!]]>Mon, 30 Mar 2015 04:30:53 GMThttp://teamfillypinana.weebly.com/news/all-25-jars-of-rari-tea-sugar-drops-were-sold-in-tamacon
The initial public sale is a success - with thanks from our associate members.
We previously said that we only made 25 jars to determine the initial demand of our Rari-Tea Sugar Drops. And we did it - we have sold out ALL 25 jars in a single day!
We thank everyone who dropped by and bought our sugar drops, and we thank our Team Fillypiñana Associates who assisted us with their aggressive promo. (Big thanks to you, Bob! xD)

We have given our calling cards to the people who bought our product, and we hope we will get product feedback and suggestions to make our sugar drops even better. Now that our first public sale is a success, we are very confident that we'll produce more jars in our next booth participation.

Our next appearance will be Nexcon Manila on May 16 and 17 at SMX Aura, Taguig. To everyone who didn't get to buy our Rari-Tea Sugar Drops, catch us there! :D

<![CDATA[Rari-Tea Sugar Drops: Only 25 jars will be for sale in TamaCon!]]>Tue, 24 Mar 2015 14:59:24 GMThttp://teamfillypinana.weebly.com/news/rari-tea-sugar-drops-only-25-jars-will-be-for-sale-in-tamacon
We want to determine the initial demand, so get them before they're gone!
In order to figure out the potential demand for Rari-Tea Sugar Drops, we'll only supply 25 small jars for sale in the Team Fillypiñana booth during the Tamashii Convention on Saturday, March 28. If you want to grab your own jar of sweets, you'll have to be quick! If you miss out on the chance to get your own jar, don't worry - we'll accept reservation orders in the booth during the convention.

The Rari-Tea Sugar Drops is the Team's first crafted item for sale. The small jar of sugar drops is at the introductory price of Php 75.00 during the TamaCon, then it will be raised to the normal retail price of Php 100.00. The medium-jar version, which is priced at Php 150.00, will be available in time for Nexcon Manila on May 16 and 17, 2015.
